Waste not, want not
The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. And I have a problem. A shopping problem. My craft cabinet is filling up faster than I use up the items in it. I get excited, start a new craft and then for whatever reason - usually a cat destroying the work in progress - I put it away to finish at a later date. Instead, I start the cycle over again.
This year, I am going to clean out the crafting cabinet. Unfinished projects, excess stickers and paints, nothing is off limits. Except buying more. I will be trying my hardest not to spend any money on this project (there may have been a few frantic, end-of-year purchases). I will challenge myself to find alternatives if I don’t have something, and I will be upfront if I do end up having to purchase something.
My goal is to start with some of those unfinished projects first. The things sitting half-done but with only a little effort can be completed quickly. This will also give me time to find more inspiration. It might be time to fire up that old Pinterest account.
If you’re a fellow crafter looking for new ideas, stick around, and let’s create something together.
While I’ll officially be starting in the new year, I’m getting a bit of a head start working on a cross stitch project I started this summer. This is a prime example of a craft avoided because the cats enjoy the string more than I do.
