And Now for Something Completely Different

We took some time seven months off. A lot of personal changes in my life, and I needed to take a step back.

So let’s reintroduce ourselves. The next few posts will be what have I been up to, what did I work on during that time off (because I did complete a few projects), and what am I currently focused on.

The biggest change is location: I’ve moved! So to start, I’m working on decorating and making this place feel like home.

I have one piece of art that I’ve purchased (from a local vendor), and while I love it, I knew I didn’t want to spend too much more money. I also knew I had plenty of other colorful projects to fill my walls.

Various cross stitch pieces. The one on the left is a pattern from TheStitchPatterns Etsy shop, which I highly recommend. There are a few more of their patterns that I’m finishing that will make an appearance on this blog. The smaller ones with words are self-designed.

The three photos in hoops was a quick project I did before I moved. I still need to clean up the excess, but I wanted to get them up quickly.

Some painting projects made the cut. The hexagon on the shelf on the left is one of three in an paint kit I got at Target last year. Their Mondo Llama brand has a lot of quick, easy, colorful kits that come with everything you need for a project.

The red-orange painting on the right was a from a Paint Pouring class I took at a local art studio. While I’m not trying to buy new craft supplies, I am still willing to invest in creating art while creating memories and will make those exceptions as I see them.

And my favorite, front and center, are portraits of my boys. While I wish I could say it was all freehand and I had a hidden talent, this was a custom paint by numbers kit from Paintly.

I still have more to show off and more to put up or move around. I’m no professional by an means but looking around at all the color and the things I have made makes me feel happy and at home.
